Zyab Iba\u00f1ez<\/strong>, Miguel Perlado<\/strong>, Jorge Ti\u00f3<\/strong> i David Saavedra<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Pere Claver Grup, and the Congress of Mental Health Foundation, publish the book \u00abLabyrinths of Wrath: Violent Extremism in Adolescence and Youth.\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The work is the result of the work developed by the Working Group of the Foundation\u00abRadicalization processes<\/strong>\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The project was launched at the end of 2017, following the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, bringing together professionals from the educational, judicial, health, and rehabilitation fields into a multidisciplinary group. For almost three years, various working sessions were held uninterruptedly to exchange perspectives and experiences and share a central reference: to foster social cohesion and rich, plural democratic participation<\/strong> not entrenched according to ideological variables. The richness of the dialogue and reflection maintained in the group led, after the Covid pandemic, and in alliance with the Institute of Government and Public Policies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, to the creation of this book. It offers elements of analysis for understanding the phenomenon, as well as the presentation of intervention experiences at multiple levels, contributing to a better definition of policies in the areas of prevention, intervention, evaluation, and research.<\/p>\n

The book addresses one of the most worrying phenomena of current times, which is The rise of violent extremism among teenagers and young adults<\/strong>. With a multidisciplinary approach, it explores the existing causes and motivations behind youth radicalization. Identity crises, family dynamics, environment, or the influence of certain members of extremist groups themselves can often impact the development of these violent behaviors. Prevention involves understanding young people's emotional vulnerabilities and offering them alternatives that allow them to channel their frustration constructively.<\/p>\n
