The conference addressed the fundamental rights of individuals during involuntary psychiatric commitments.<br \/>\nThe objective was to reinforce care practices respectful of the rights and dignity of patients. The legal dimension of involuntary admissions and the protection framework established by current legislation were analyzed. The conference took as a reference the <strong>UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006)<\/strong>.<br \/>\nExperts from the clinical and legal fields provided different perspectives on this issue. Particularly sensitive situations, such as emergencies and transfers, were also addressed. Among the presentations, Law 8\/2021 on support for persons with disabilities was analyzed.<br \/>\nThe update on the rights of people with mental health issues within the framework of the UN was also presented. The CEA presented the document <strong>\u00abBasic legal knowledge relating to involuntary psychiatric admissions\u00bb<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis document outlines the main legal aspects to keep in mind in these processes. The initiative aims to facilitate the effective application of patient rights in clinical practice.
