Zyab Ibañez, Miguel Perlado, Jorge Tió i David Saavedra, in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Pere Claver Grup, and the Congress of Mental Health Foundation, publish the book «Labyrinths of Wrath: Violent Extremism in Adolescence and Youth.».

The work is the result of the task developed by the Working Group of the Foundation «Radicalization processes».

The project was launched at the end of 2017, following the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, bringing together professionals from the educational, judicial, health, and rehabilitation fields into a multidisciplinary group. For almost three years, various working sessions were held uninterruptedly to exchange perspectives and experiences and share a central reference: to foster social cohesion and rich, plural democratic participation no entrenched according to ideological variables. The richness of the dialogue and reflection maintained within the group, after the Covid pandemic, and in alliance with the Institute of Government and Public Policies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, led to the creation of this book. It offers elements of analysis for understanding the phenomenon, as well as the presentation of intervention experiences at multiple levels, contributing to a better definition of policies in the areas of prevention, intervention, evaluation, and research.

The book addresses one of the most concerning phenomena of our time, which is The rise of violent extremism among adolescents and young adults. With a multidisciplinary approach, it explores the existing causes and motivations behind youth radicalization. Often, identity crises, family dynamics, environment, or the influence of certain members of extremist groups themselves can impact the development of these violent behaviors. Prevention involves understanding young people's emotional vulnerabilities and offering them alternatives that allow them to channel their frustration constructively.

Labyrinths of Wrath an essential read for those interested in understanding the intricate paths that can lead someone toward radicalization. A thought-provoking read on one of the most worrying and complex issues facing today's global society.

During this period, the members of the CEA evaluated the situation of psychiatric hospitalization in Catalonia and its effects on the lives of patients and families through reflection, the testimonies of key actors, comparison with other national contexts, and debate.
