Who are we

The Ethics Committee (CEA) of the Catalan Mental Health Congress Foundation was established on’year 2003 and is officially accredited. It is an interdisciplinary body for reflection, advice, and consultation that promotes the analysis of ethical dilemmas linked to healthcare practice, contributing to care that is more respectful of rights, dignity and autonomy of individuals.

The Committee brings together professionals from different disciplines with the desire to promote a shared ethical culture and provide criteria to guide decision-making in the healthcare, social, and community sectors.

Objectives

Promote ethical reflection on care practice and new mental health challenges

Advise professionals and organizations facing ethical dilemmas and conflicts

Promote training and recommendations for ethical person-centered care

What are we doing

The Committee analyzes queries and cases of ethical interest, promotes spaces for interdisciplinary debate, and draws up positions and recommendations on issues related to human rights, care practices, and mental health policies. Likewise, it promotes training and outreach activities to encourage bioethical reflection among professionals, institutions, and the public.

Who is part of the CEA?

The Committee is composed of professionals from different disciplines, including mental health, law, anthropology, and other fields related to bioethics and care for individuals.
