Organized by Clinical Ethics Committee of the FCCSM, focused on the healthcare, social, and ethical implications of urgent care.
The complexity of the situations and the vulnerability of the people served focused the reflection and debate.
The event featured the participation of the psychiatrist and epidemiologist Jim van Os, which will present perspectives and experiences of the Dutch mental health network.
Possible alternatives to the current model and new approaches to emergency care were also analyzed.
The debate table brought together professionals, people with firsthand experience, family members, and representatives from different fields.
The dialogue allowed us to share experiences and reflect on the shortcomings and challenges of emergency care.
From the perspective of ethics, the need to understand emergencies as safe, private, violence-free spaces that respect people's rights.
