Taking current debates surrounding gender identity in childhood and adolescence as a starting point, the Conference aims to broaden the perspective toward more general issues affecting the psychic development of children and young people: the relationship between suffering and diagnosis, the processes of identity construction, the role of health and educational institutions, the influence of dominant social discourses, and the existing tensions between different care models.
