Preliminary conference of the 6th Catalan Mental Health Congress.

The Conference “Migratory Waves and Refugee Crisis: Human Rights and Mental Health” It was held on December 16, 2016, as a preliminary day to the 6th Catalan Mental Health Congress.

Organized by FCCSM, it had the collaboration of various professional associations in the fields of health, psychology, social work, and social education.

The meeting addressed current migratory phenomena and the refugee crisis from the perspective of human rights and mental health.

Situations of rights violations and existing reception initiatives were analyzed.

The event also allowed for the sharing of experiences, proposals, and perspectives developed in Catalonia.

One of the main objectives was to incorporate these reflections into the debate of the 6th Catalan Mental Health Congress.

A social and professional response was called for in the face of vulnerability situations associated with migration and refuge.

The meeting emphasized the need for a comprehensive, community-based, and human rights-oriented perspective.

Finally, the campaign was presented “Our home, your home”, linked to the reception and rights of refugees.
